The production company Alcon Entertainment has announced that Kate Mara has joined the cast of Transcendence, a sci-fi movie set to be one of the highlights of spring 2014. Mara (House of Cards) will star opposite Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall and Paul Bettany.
The movie will beWally Pfister's first foray into directing. He has been Christopher Nolan's official cameraman since Memento in 2000. Jack Paglen's screenplay, which is shrouded in secrecy, is expected to tell the story of a scientific genius who uploads his mind into a supercomputer.
Filming on Transcendence will start in April. The movie will be released in North American cinemas on April 24, 2014.
