The 2004 hit, Murder, catapulted Emraan Hashmi to stardom and brought its makers — the Bhatt banner, Vishesh Films — great success at the box office.
The partnership between the actor and the production house yielded many more hits in the years that followed, such as Gangster (2006), Raaz The Mystery Continues (2009) and Murder 2 (2011).
Speculation about differences between the two started doing the rounds last year when the Bhatts announced that the actor would not be part of Murder 3. However, it seems all is good now.
According to latest news, Emraan, who last worked with the Bhatts on Raaz 3D (2012), has been roped in for another film. “Emraan is a great actor. Thus, we have signed him for our next. It will be directed by Vikram Bhatt,” says Mahesh Bhatt. He adds, “It is a thriller, a genre that Vikram is an expert in. It will go on the floors by the end of this year,” says Bhatt.
Mukesh Bhatt also adds that the past reports of differences between the two were baseless. “Emraan is not a star; he’s like family to us. Those reports were untrue. We did not sign him for some films because the roles did not suit him,” explains Bhatt.
